by Neil Kadisha : The Walt Disney Company opened a brand new store in the Times Square, New York, with over a 800 thousand square meters. It is now the largest Disney’s store in the U.S. The company, which has invested a total of two years in the development of the new store, where you can find all the toys and other promotional items of Disney characters, decided to go for the busy enclave of Manhattan to open a facility aiming to attract 11 000 customers daily.
The first Disney store that New York hosted was opened in 1997 on Fifth Avenue, but the company closed it in January to settle in Times Square, where recently other companies have opened large stores to take advantage of the visit of the many tourists who stop at that point in Manhattan.
With the new store there are now 220 facilities across North America Disney, while the company has opened another 40 in Japan and 105 in Europe.
The big new Disney facility is divided into sections that correspond to the different characters from the classic Mickey Mouse to an assortment of princesses, offering the same products as in other stores, only more and on a grander scale.
The establishment provides different attractions, from a small cinema, to six feet tall fairytale castle with a talking “magic” mirror, and a corner inspired by the animated film “Cars”, where customers can build the toy vehicle to their own taste.
(The entertainment giant’s shares have risen by 14.29% so far this year. )
